I’m looking for the classic “Mistakes Were Made” quote from a city official, but they never quite get there. But when threat research manager for Trend Micro Jamz Yaneza’s quibs, “Nobody in their right mind today does that,” that pretty much covers it, I think.
It’s a new competition among Democrats, with Senator Carl Levin apparently trying to out-do Senator Chuck Schumer’s recent success. If they wagered on this, is that illegal?

Gavin Newsom, explaining that Terry Child is a “rogue employee that got a bit maniacal“.
There is still no official report on Mr. Child’s possible past criminal record, so I formerly retract that suggestion (thank you CNN /Wolf Blitzer). I’ll likely un-retract once Mr. Child’s trial is concluded.

IT administrator locks the city out of its own computer network.
At first I was thinking, well at least the data’s safe from hackers or terrorists. But now, CNN is reporting that the IT guy has a criminal record and was never screened for past crimes when hired! Jeez, who is running that city???
PS. I can’t find a link to the criminal record story, so I can’t confirm that, especially since it’s CNN reporting.

UPDATE! There is a bit in the cartoon with Hillary holding a sign, campaigning for the 2012 race. This was supposed to be a joke, a parody of the Clinton ambition. But apparently, the guys at Jib Jab knew something we didn’t; she really IS campaigning for 2012.

Great. So instead of fixing the power shortage and building new pollution free power generating facilities, such as hydro electric and nuclear, and improving the nations power transmission lines, the whole nation will have to get used to living life under nanny-state-ish Flex Alerts! But hey, they always said that trends start in California and spread to the rest of the country (like a virus).
On the positive side, we in California would have John Garamendi as Governor…. Oh Wait…
