Saw it last night. For the last year and a half I had been preparing myself to hate it\u2026\u2026 yet last night I came out of the theater thoroughly pleased. I\u2019m not going to give anything away, but I will say that even though it\u2019s a prequel, it never falls into the \u201cStar Wars\u201d trap of trying to explain every little detail of the characters or stick so closely to the original series that you already know exactly  whats going to happen at every moment. There is one character who threatens to become a Trekkie Ewok \/ R2D2 \/ Jar Jar Binks, but thank GOD it\u2019s never given the time to do so.<\/p>\n<p>The casting is great. Everyone does a fine job here. The guy who plays Dr. McCoy does an outstanding job. For me, the show stealer is Simon Pegg as Scotty. He absolutely NAILS it. Gotta do some push-ups and get ready for work now.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026. And, no one reverses the polarity, sends anything over a tachion beam, or realigns the dilithium crystals.
