Weather patterns will become even more terrifying and there will be less and less rainfall,” he said.

Here is England, 18 months later, covered completely by ice and snow.

Somehow, I doubt this is the Climate Change he was hoping for. Well, he almost got it right. After all, snow is not rainfall in the literal sense, is it?

But his knowledge and wisdom of all things Climate explains why we might have a very cold winter now:

“We are asking for something pretty dreadful unless we really understand the issues now and [the] urgency of them.” The Prince said the rainforests, which provide the “air conditioning system for the entire planet”, releasing water vapour and absorbing carbon, were being lost to poor farmers desperate to make a living.

Hold on for a minute. Is PC right? Are those evil poor farmers destroying the planets AC? From this helpful enviro web site:

Over half the world’s rainforests have been destroyed already and what remains is being cut down very quickly. Much of the damage is being done by poor farmers,…

Hey don’t get on my back, or PC’s, for saying that poor farmers are to blame. Because they’re not, of course:

…but they are not to blame. They have to clear rainforest land to grow food for their families. Governments and companies have forced them into this situation.

Boy, the guys and girls who designed this web site sure do love their pinks and purples. Anyway, back to PC from 18 months ago:

He said that every year, 20 million hectares of forest – equivalent to the area of England, Wales and Scotland – were destroyed and called for a “gigantic partnership” of governments, businesses and consumers to slow it down.

“What we have got to do is try to ensure that these forests are more valuable alive than dead. At the moment, there is more value in them being dead,” he said.

He estimated that the cost would be about £15 billion a year but said that this should be viewed as an insurance policy for the whole world. “That is roughly just under one per cent of all the insurance premiums paid in the world in any one year. It is an insurance premium to ensure the world has some rainfall and reasonable weather patterns. It is a good deal.”

Insurance, you mean like the thing that is mucking up the medical industry here in the US, that Obama and company are trying to enrich…. er, I mean fix?

Last month, the Prince had a meeting at St James’s Palace with four state governors from Brazil to discuss the best way to allocate the money. One option would be for an organisation such as the World Bank to administer the fund. The Prince made clear yesterday that if nothing was done there was a “severe danger of losing a major part of the battle against climate change”.

OK, so, obviously, the “air conditioning system for the entire planet” has not only been fixed, but perhaps over-fixed, as we’re finding out now in the Northern Hemisphere! Job well done guys!

Oh, in the article PC said this:

He conceded that at times he had been forced to keep his counsel when he would have liked to have spoken out. “You learn as you go along. I am going to be 60 this year. I would be a blinding idiot if I had not learnt a bit by now.”

UPDATE: I missed this. At the Dopenhagen conference, Prince Charles issued an extension:

For the grim reality is that our planet has reached a point of crisis and we have only seven years before we lose the levers of control.

As the President of Gabon [another esteemed climate expert of course] said at a meeting I hosted last month: ‘The door to our future is closing…’

Here is the grand Prince’s closing comment at Dopenhagen. Please, swallow what ever you happen to be drinking so it doesn’t come out your nose:

One final thought… As our planet’s life-support system begins to fail and our very survival as a species is brought into question, remember that our children and grandchildren will ask not what our generation said, but what it did. Let us give an answer, then, of which we can be proud.’

Notice the disconnect. It’s not “We”, but “It”. That may explain how these hypocritical pseudo-environmentalists can justify flying all over the world in polluting private jets, and live extreme energy consuming luxurious lifestyles that contributes to the perceived problem they so violently and vociferously rail against.

PS. Being a spa repairman who fixes Spas and Jacuzzis so their climates change the way they’re supposed to, I’m curious how much it actually costs to fix the World Climate Change thingy, so I can raise my prices according to the Global Market on Climate Change repair. Let’s see, the estimate was 15 billion euros, PC’s actual expenditures were 2.8 billion to get things working again, and… Oh Heck Yeah! That’s over a 500% mark-up!!!! Hell!!! It’s time to raise my rates!!!!!

PPS. Insta-P readers, thanks for stopping by. And yes, the typo in the title has been fixed. Jeff Alberts, my blog pal and self appointed spell chequer, has been conspicuously absent the last few weeks.
