It is an amorphous, factionalized uprising with no clear leadership and no centralized structure. Not everyone flocking to the Tea Party movement is worried about dictatorship. Some have a basic aversion to big government, or Mr. Obama, or progressives in general. What\u2019s more, some Tea Party groups are essentially appendages of the local Republican Party.<\/p>\n<p>Awakened by the recession<\/p>\n<p>But most are not. They are frequently led by political neophytes who prize independence and tell strikingly similar stories of having been awakened by the recession. <\/del><\/p>\n<p>Crap. <\/p>\n<p>OK, the New York Times published an article highlighting the fact that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/35416483\/\/\">more than a few nutters are a part of the Tea Party Party thing<\/a>. I was going to write a long essay on this topic, but I realized that all that needs to be said about the Tea Party movement, which started out as a protest against fiscal recklessness but has now morphed into&#8230; God, who knows what, has already been discussed&#8230;. brilliantly&#8230;.
