This brings back some of the pains of my own struggles against myself. It wasn&#8217;t until I was out of college that I could even utter the words &#8220;I&#8217;m gay&#8221; out loud. And even then, it felt strange to say it. I can remember more than once resiting the urge to look over my shoulder to see who might have overheard. Some of the comments posted below the story makes me want to puke. And you wonder why many young gay people still find it so gut-wrenchingly difficult to accept who they are and what they feel.<\/p>\n<p>Makes <a href=\"http:\/\/www.towleroad.com\/2010\/09\/watch-dan-savage-launches-anti-bullying-youtube-project.html\">this project<\/a> all the more important.<\/p>\n<p>PS. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie&#8217;s response to this <a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/suicide-rutgers-university-freshman-tyler-clementi-stuns-veteran\/story?id=11763784\">hits all the right notes<\/a>.
