Given that I&#8217;m not a Jerry Brown fan, I have to say so far he&#8217;s done all right. He&#8217;s been pretty realistic about the state of the State. And what he&#8217;s proposing is much less gimmicky than that of his predecessor. Don&#8217;t think he&#8217;ll be able to completely right the ship, but it seems he&#8217;s at least recognizing the magnitude of the problems. That said, any plan that shifts mandated expenses back to cities and counties which are also in dire straights, is completely off the table.
