So the notion that somehow the American people aren&#8217;t sold is not the problem. The problem is members of Congress are dug in ideologically.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I found it!<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s from <a href=\"http:\/\/fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com\/2011\/07\/13\/house-republicans-no-tax-stance-far-outside-political-mainstream\/\">this article<\/a>. Money quote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Now consider the positions of the respective parties to the negotiation.
