Germany was expected to pay reparations to cover the costs of restoring economies in neighboring countries, due to a war they helped create and perpetuate.<\/p>\n<p>Fast Forward some 90 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Europe: 2011<\/strong> &#8211; After the meltdown of worldwide financial markets, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/finance\/financialcrisis\/8650929\/Euro-reaches-eleventh-hour-as-Angela-Merkel-and-Nicolas-Sarkozy-hold-crisis-talks.html\">Europe&#8217;s financial system is in tatters<\/a>.
