No Job Too Difficult…

I have defended the Palin camp against the baseless charge that her ad campaign is MORE RESPONSIBLE than all other influences, movies, video games, you name it, because the fact is, political assassination is nothing new to our society. I also applaud them for  removing the ad in a very timely fashion. It was the responsible thing to do.

That said… Sarah… Where is your tweet where you regret the carelessness of the ad?

Thing is… Palin’s always so “out there” on everything else. Tweeting about things that are supposed to have substance. But when something comes along that is really serious and important????
I applaud Obama for his handling of the tragedy. Likewise kudos go to Beohner, who had perhaps the best response I’ve heard so far. Though , based on the info we have so far,  she’s not responsible for the shooting or shown to have unduly influencing the shooter in any way, like it or not, she IS connected to this. Her web page was indeed in poor taste, and Giffords opponent used guns as a prominent prop during the campaign. There are no easy or simple aspects to this, but a small speech from Mrs Palin would at least show she understands how this type of campaigning in retrospect might have gone too far.

But, I guess I’m asking too much. She’s already demonstrated that, when times get tough, and something hard needs to get done, her response is… To Run Away!

PS. From Betty Mallory, a facebook friend, this link from the Tammy Bruce Show, showing the Palin camp rationalizing the infamous map:

MANSOUR: I just want to clarify again, and maybe it wasn’t done on the record enough by us when this came out, the graphic, is just, it’s basically — we never, ever, ever intended it to be gunsights. It was simply crosshairs like you see on maps.

BRUCE: Well, it’s a surveyor’s symbol. It’s a surveyor’s symbol.

MANSOUR: It’s a surveyor’s symbol. I just want to say this, Tammy, if I can. This graphic was done, not even done in house — we had a political graphics professional who did this for us.

It gets worse. Here is the link to the google images of “Surveyor Maps“. I’ve gone through 31 pages so far, and not a target in sight.
Now add target to the search. There is only ONE MAP that comes up. I’ll give you three guesses which map that is.

Again, if someone on the left would have said something thats so obviously an obfuscation and a lie, the right would not hesitate to call them on it.

Don’t you just love how Mansour even goes so far as to shift any blame on the “political graphics professional” that did the job for them? We didn’t make the map, that guy did! So we accepted the finished product, posted it on SP’s Facebook page and she tweeted “Don’t retreat, reload!” and directed her followers to view this map that included names of the people we wanted taken out of office. But that doesn’t mean we meant anything by that or even should have to take any sort of responsibility for it, right? Because that other guy made it!

My son referred to the map as a “hit list.” Maybe that’s what Mansour almost said before she caught herself. oopsie.

Well, she finally commented yesterday. Defiant and unrepentant, she managed to make it all about HER.
