I’m from NZ (as is Splt Enz) and grew up listening to these guys (amongst others). As you will know the younger Finn brother (Neil) setup Crowded House generally regarded as an Australian band (except by Kiwi’s :)) and his son Liam Finn has some pretty cool music avaliable too.

Mike Chunn was in Citizen Band, which had some great songs too, but I only have them on LP, and you can’t get them on iTunes.

Great to see you promoting them!!

I was kind of hoping you were him!!!!! 🙂

I first was exposed to the ENZ in the late 80’s through a room mate who was a fantastic keyboardist and fan of the Enz. I was still learning to play bass (OK, I’m still learning to play bass – you never stop learning) and was into less eclectic stuff. But I did immediately latch onto Nick Seymor’s style and loved every bass line. Being a huge fan of Neil I got most of the Enz albums with him on it. I also got the late 80’s and 90’s Tim solo albums too. Eventually, I finally got curious about the pre-Neil Enz, and started hoarding those. It took a little while, but, MAN, that stuff grew on me! Such fun and creative music!!!!!! Really wish I could have seen them in the day!

Here is my review of Second Thoughts.

PS. I am embarking on a solo tour… Of Fresno :-). I will be doing acoustic versions of Tim Finns “Persiasion”, and once I work out the guitar bits “Pahihaka”.

Wish i was Neil Finn! The closest I have been to that is seeing him walking around in Auckland. Good luck with the solo tour.
