Two Rear Main Seals…. WTF????
Normally, you only need ONE rear main seal. The Subaru EA 81 engine, for some strange reason, has TWO!!!!!!! And of course, the package that is labeled as Rear Main Seal only comes with the outer seal. Back to the auto parts shop.

Got any part numbers for the inner and outer main seals?

No, not at the moment. I did forget to write an update on this repair. There is only one seal after all – the outer seal. The inner seal is actually an o-ring that has creased and just looks like a RMS.
