Giving A Democrat “Some Love”… Double Whammy Style! UPDATE

And when I say “Love”, I mean attention, and not in a good way.  republicans have been feeling the wrath of Sonicfrog, now it’s a Democrat’s turn.

Elizabeth Warren is trying to capture the Mas Senate seat now occupied by Republican Scott Brown.  She came off as the working class defender in her first ad, and impressed a lot of people. The revelation a number of months ago that she has in the past used a dubious claim of Cherokee ancestry to gain affirmative action benefits hasn’t seemed to hurt her too much.  First, she defended a major corporation AGAINST those workers trying to collect beneffits to help pay the cost of dealing with asbestos related illnesses.

Watch her response to Scott Brown when he brings this up in a debate.

Well, that was hardly a satisfying answer and rebuttal. And when I say “hardly satisfying”, I mean “Oh GOD, that was SOOOO much worse than any lame response from Romney on any of his multiple gaffes!”. Yeah, it’s that bad.

But the latest revelations are much worse.  Seems shes practiced law in Massachusetts without a license. That’s a big “Oops”. Of course the usual defenders are blindingly buying her rational and political attempts to slither out of the way of the truth car before it runs over this snake of a problem. They cite the fact that the information was brought to life by a Conservative law blogger “gasp” so therefore it automatically must be assumed to be false!* But honest left leaning law bloggers are noting the case against Prof Warren does indeed look quite damning. Wish we had more people who could set aside politics and call out their own when a problem is revealed.

And note. when Joe The Plumber guy was caught practicing without a license, the news world was inflamed…

Scandalous!!!!!

This has been out there for days, and yet it’s only being pursued by one Conservative blogger. No mass media coverage on this, a much worse, and by degrees a much more high profile story than anything concerning Joe The Plumber. Anyone still want to argue that there is no media bias leaning toward liberals?

* I get so sick of the use of the “shoot the messenger” fallacy. I can’t stand either Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity. I have similar attitudes toward Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow. I take anything and everything they say with an elephant sized grain of salt. But, if they are correct, they are correct.

UPDATE: On media bias…. Maybe three days is still an acceptable time frame. I am the one after all who bitches and moans that the media jumps on a story to get it first rather than waiting to make sure they get it right.

Hat Tip: Althouse.

Anyone still want to argue that there is no media bias leaning toward liberals?

Yes, because I’m going to wait the requisite three seconds until I see someone else (probably called Cenk Uygur) raging about a conservative getting away with murder without any mass media investigation.

Mass media bias is like macroeconomics. Everyone thinks they’ve found a politically-oriented pattern to it all, but they haven’t.

    Serenity, thanks for stopping by.

I have updated the post to acknowledge, in retrospect, I may have jumped the gun.

Hi Serenity (haven’t seen you in a while … and just for the record V the K lost the bet that you would be back to GP in three weeks [their loss] after your final post; not like he gives two sh!ts, though) and Sonic,

I know nothing, as you both well know. But, if memory serves, there was very little liberal bias in the run-up to the Iraq War. And, if one does exist, that was an opportune time for it to unleash its power.

    That is all.

    Talk to you later.

Cine… Was that a bet that I would be back, or Serenity?

I believe VTK was betting Serenity would be back three weeks from when she announced she was out of GP. That was months ago.

However, during a private email exchange I had with BDB a few months back, he was quite blase about your departure.

    So, same mindset, different parties.

I wasn’t as official as you and Serenity when I left, but, now, I kind of wish I did, because I’m never going to comment on that blog again. I still visit and have the urge to comment, but I hold myself back: not worth it. And, as time goes on, I tend not to go back. More of the same caca.

It’s been over a month and I’m a lot happier.

There is no point in wasting time with people who’s minds are so closed to anything but what they have already determined to be true. On Rush today, he said he doesn’t have guests because why ask a guest a question when you already know the answer.

How sad it is to walk around thinking you know everything. I know what I know, but i also know there is a hell of a lot of stuff I don’t yet know, and some of that stuff will surly prove some of the stuff i know to be wrong. I’m not afraid of that – Being wrong on occasion.

@Cinesnatch: Three weeks? What a coincidence. When I switched to Ubuntu Linux a person by the handle of Dark Pulse said I’d last “three weeks, maybe a month. That was in April 2006. I did stop using Ubuntu though… and switched to Debian GNU/Linux.

On the subject of GayPatiot, I checked in twice from Wi-Fi hotspots and it seems to have gone downhill a bit. The blog posts are pretty lacking in actual content now, and the comments section seemed like a ghost town. But then that’s what happens, you get soft and lazy without anyone to challenge your opinions.

I always go back to Debian proper. I do like Mint and Peppermint also, but Debian is my home.

    Debian, GNU/Linux … I feel so ignorant!

Anyway, yes, it has become somewhat of a ghost town. There are a lot of new non-repeat commenters, though, I’ve noticed. All of the old regulars are either gone or comment sparsely. I did learn the other day, though, that The Live Wire has a lesbian daughter, which makes my respect level for him inch up a smidge. It makes me think that, as a father, he has gone out of his way to get a better perspective on his child. Though, it still makes some of his opinions on gays confusing to me.

One thing hasn’t changed though: ND30 is still there with his mindless harping. For instance, he compared moving to San Francisco to live with his lover (which got a face palm from me only because someone would choose to be the lover of someone who conducts themselves the way he does; *SIDENOTE* I *hear* he is a sweet person in real life, but he certainly plays the role of a##hole on the internet to the letter), equal to an American leaving the United States to be with their lover. For someone named Alex to bring this to GP’s attention elicited a condemnation from ND30, because, of course, Alex should shut up and be thankful he had the choice to be apart or be together outside of the U.S. Because, you know, it’s the same as moving to another American city. Right?

Anyway, I believe Levi is the only long-running liberal left at GP (I’m not sure how much time Alan has put in, but he’s a name I recognize). I wonder what will happen to the blog after the election, depending on who gets elected. If Obama gets back in, I’m not sure GP could take four more years of a Democrat President. I suspect it will either implode or perhaps double-down in vitriol. Those who hate Obama are only going to hate him more (if that’s possible). Though, it would be interesting to see Obama get reelected, the economy improve, and the grumbling silence of his detractors that would follow. Ah, one can dream.

If Romney makes it, they are not going to have anyone to criticize unless the Dem’s get the upper hand in the Senate. Then, I guess they’ll focus all their energy on that horrible governor Jerry Brown.

    Haha. What a spin zone.
