Turns out there’s more…. much more! Love the surprise ending.
Johnny Rockstar – At Work!
Sorry man, I just couldn’t resist.
Change!
Not looking all that changie so far.
We do have Sanjay Gupta – an actual Doctor – as Surgeon General. That is change I’ve been hoping for, I guess. To me, it’s a good pick. Prof Walker seems underwhelmed, though he doesn’t say why. Oh well, you can’t please everybody.

Headlines From The News – Government Makes Decision On Gray Wolves.
They have decided that the creatures are indeed gray!!!!

OK. I was just kidding – that was not what they decided. But, considering the caliber of politicians ruling Washington these days, that is about what you would expect from the current government.
Here is the actual decision – to take some gray wolf populations off the endangered species list. This would open the door to some hunting to keep the population down, which helps minimize the incidence of wolves preying on livestock, and overpopulated species tend to encroach into urban areas, which can be dangerous to humans. I find it humorous that wolf experts (at least the one quoted in the story) are OK with the action, while the environmentalists are already prepared to sue.
"Why Do Birds Sing So Gay…."
…or migrate to places where they never have before (that we know of). The pine flycatcher is currently making it’s winter home in south Texas, about 200 miles from it’s normal habitat. This is quite a puzzle:
“The bird seems “very much out of whack,” said John Arvin, research coordinator at the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory. “It moved over a lot of hostile-looking territory to get there. Why that happened is anybody’s guess.”
Global Warming! Duh!!!!!
…or has that finally, maybe, stopped being the catch-all reason for ever single unexplained anomaly observed in nature. Yes, I’m cynical, but remember, someone did try to lay blame to the earthquake that caused the tsunami of 2004 on global warming,
Blogiversary # 4
Yes, it’s the 4th year of Sonicfrog bloggy goodness. I am still very busy with the family, getting ready for the funeral, so blogging will be light for a few maore days. Regardless, here are a few things I’m gonna do with the blog:
Revamp the Blogtopus – there are many links I don’t visit much, or the blog in question has died. I vow to replace those with interesting, up-to-date sites.
Feature More Media – that’s already in progress.
Feature Original Music – I am set to record some of my own stuff (finally) and I am going to make an extra effort to feature music from my Brothers, friends, and anyone else doing interesting stuff.
Write More About My Life – this is the hardest one. I have always had a hard time writing about myself. I especially haven’t written much about my efforts to get a teaching job. I will write more about that.
Ooops. Dinner is on. I’ll write more in a bit…. that means tomorrow.
Sad News
Greg’s dad died last night. The last stroke, suffered on Wednesday, left extensive brain damage in his left hemisphere and paralysis on the right side of the body. The doctors removed life support yesterday morning, then removed the ox supplementation at 5 PM, and he was able to breath on his own for a while. Gib Hutchings passed away at around 2 in the morning. Send your thoughts and prayers to the family.
Blogging will be light.
I haven’t blogged in a while. We are dealing with a family emergency. Wednesday morning, Greg’s Dad has had yet another stroke, his third, this time in the left hemisphere. He’s in stable condition, but as with all strokes, it’s a wait-and-see situation. The first 72 hours will tell how things are going to go. I’ll be back and forth to the hospital for the next several days, so I would be able to post much, but I’ll keep you posted.
