Works In Progress…

I’m still trying to finish up my post on how / why my politics lean the way they do, as those views are often express here on my blog. In the mean time, I was commenting on another blog about something else that involves my blog. The post goes like this:

Wes, your comment brings me back to my college days. For whatever reason, my spelling has never been my strong suit. Back then, in 1991, few students had computers or access to them. So most of us still used a typewriter to print our papers… In other words… No spell check. One of my instructors handed a graded paper back to me and said “your spelling is atrocious; you need to make a dictionary your best friend!”. If that would have been followed by a nicer comment such as “I like your writing style, but..”, maybe that would have encouraged me to work harder on it at the time. But all she did was piss me off and make me not want to write at all!

It wasn’t until I decided to get my teaching credential in history that I became motivated to work on that. It’s one of the reasons I started blogging, to improve my writing, typing and spelling skills which will of course need to be much sharper in the teaching profession. I still goof up, sometimes a misspell, sometimes a type-o (almost misspelled “atrocious” a moment ago), as self-anointed Sonicfrog.net spell checker Jeff A can attest, but over the last six years of blogging, it’s “deffinitely” gotten much better!

The one thing that I still just can’t get motivated to do… is proof-read!

Oh well, you can’t win them all!

A Fun Little Tune!

I was looking through some of my old links and found this. It from one of my old blog-pals, Sleepybomb, who has for whatever reason dropped out of the scene. Good blogger. Always had interesting stuff. And he’s a great musician. Sleepybomb… Come Back To Us… We Miss You!!!!
